Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to some common questions

Can you help with my travel to Mallorca?

Yes. Depending on your requirements we can arrange for you to be taken to your UK departure airport and ask our travel agent partner to arrange flights for you. We can even arrange a private plane to get you to Palma Airport. However, unless you let us know, we work on the basis that you will arrange your own flights and inform us of your arrival time.

What happens when we arrive at Palma Airport?

Our Top of the Col staff will be there to meet you at the Arrivals exit at the Airport. From there we will transport you and all your luggage, including your bike if you have brought your own, to the Son Brull Hotel & Spa. Transfer time is about 40 minutes.

Should I bring my own bike or can you arrange one for me?

If you are more comfortable and want to use your own bike then bring that with you on the flight and if needed we can help you to reassemble it on arrival. There is also the option to send your bike on to Son Brull, who will securely store it for you.

Alternatively, we can provide a bike for you. Just tell us the size and specification of bike that you require and we will arrange that this is at Son Brull for you on your arrival while helping with any adjustments required. Cost depends on the spec required.

What do we do for meals?

Breakfast is provided each morning at Son Brull. Dinner is also provided each evening at Son Brull with a combination of venues at the hotel including the award winning 365 Restaurant, the more relaxed Bar and Tapas menu, and a BBQ on the front lawn specifically for Top of the Col visitors.

As we will be out at lunchtime each day, we stop for lunch at one of the many local restaurants on the cycling routes that we cover, with these chosen specifically for the excellent local cuisine that they provide.

Our support staff also provide snacks and drinks throughout your time cycling so you will never go hungry!

Do we all have to eat together?

Only at lunchtime when we are out cycling.

You can breakfast as you wish at the Son Brull each morning..

At dinner it is completely up to you whether you wish to join together and sit as a bigger group or wish to eat alone, as a couple, or in smaller groups.

Do we need to know the cycling routes?

No not at all. We are there to support you, ensure that the necessary health and safety measures are in place and allow you to completely enjoy the cycling. Through a combination of support cyclists we ensure you never go off track.

How good at cycling do I need to be?

Mallorca offers the very best cyclists a challenge, right up to the top professional teams. However we absolutely cater for cyclists of all abilities.

Each day we offer three different options for cycling that will usually combine elements of the same ride so you get the chance to cycle together for part of the day even if not for the full day. There is always the option to get in the support vehicle for part or all of the day, so you can still see the island at its best and pick and choose some cycling sections -especially on the harder cycling days.

The longest and hardest option will always be a good challenge for the stronger cyclists but we know routes very well and design these to offer the variety that will keep everyone happy.

Most days we do climbing, so the more training that you do and the more climbing you do, then the more you will enjoy it.

If you do want to push yourself and improve your cycling when there, the Mallorcan routes are perfect for this, and our Top of the Col staff cyclists will assist you to achieve this!

Can you give me a training plan?

Yes. Please let us know how much cycling you have done and currently do, when you are coming, and we will provide you with a training plan to fit in with your Top of the Col experience.

What if I don’t want to cycle?

No problem. You can still enjoy the Top of the Col experience. On any given day you can choose to stay and enjoy the Son Brull experience or spend the day viewing Mallorca from the support vehicle.

Can you arrange other trips for me when I am there?

Yes. Let us know beforehand or during your trip and we can help to arrange outings for you – whether a visit to Palma, a round of golf or whatever takes your fancy.

Will we get a chance to explore Pollença?

Absolutely. Son Brull is only 1km from the very picturesque Pollença town centre. We can stop off here on the way back from cycling or as our staff are all based within Pollença, why not come and join us for a drink in the square? We will be happy to show you all the best nightspots!

How many others will be on this trip?

These are very exclusive trips with no more than 10 rooms at the Son Brull available at any given time. As a maximum there will be a total of 20 people and it could range from anything from 10 to 20 people. This allows us to ensure that you are properly looked after.
